I am *NOT* a mainstream Mama!

Wow - I've been so remiss at posting...

I think of great things to post and then I don't post 'em. I'm hesitant sometimes to let the core me show - because I'm such a chameleon that perhaps the hippie me and the mainstream me will clash somewhere out there...

BUT I think its time to let the battle for the "real" me commence.

I was offended recently when I was told that I come across as very mainstream. Why that bothered me, I don't know ~~ but it did. I need to work on showing the inner me more on the outside because I don't like that I come across mainstream!

What's wrong with mainstream, you ask? Nothing... really... but I'm not. I don't feel that I am following along the crowd (floating along the stream) without concern for asking questions and forcing the issue. I feel I walk more on the hippie side... or the crunchy side if that suits your phrasing better --- either way, I'm NOT a soccer mom driving a minivan and taking my kids to the local elementary school and going about living an unquestioned life.

Perhaps that's the crux. I feel that I'm living a life of questions whereas I see mainstream as living without questioning. The Spankies once used the phrase "Sheeple" to refer to people who just follow along like sheep... I don't want to ever be associated with Sheeple... and perhaps that's why I was so offended to be referred to as "mainstream" even just in my appearance!

Now - to go find the "What Not to Wear" success story hippie me...
