My 7yo cannot WAIT to get to school tomorrow morning! He will be in a blended 1st/2nd classroom and he's really excited about it. He met his teacher on the last day of school last year and came home and was so excited that the woman that he "thought was just some nice lady at school is [his] teacher!"
How cool that he's known his teacher from seeing her and having positive encounters with her at various times during the past school year and is jumping around with excitement to be in her class this year.
I'm less overjoyed at the idea of my daughter going off to school. I wish I was more excited about the school I'd chosen - wait, I never chose a school. I was in denial that she was going to be going to school and I actually thought I'd homeschool/unschool this year and not commit to a program. Then life intervened and we need money.
I'm in the process of debating job opportunities (one work from home and one seasonal at a retail store) I need childcare if I work out of the house, I need childcare if I work from home... two different jobs with different pay opportunities with different needs for childcare.
I haven't made any decisions and will be spending the next few days meditating and praying a lot!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. I love when kids are so very excited about school when they first start : ). I hope his year is AWESOME!
